A Different Kind of Fireworks

It's just a few hours before fireworks and firecrackers blasts left and right to usher in a new year. Most people spends a big sum of money to burn in this revelry. Even the poor folks under the bridge who do not have enough money to put food in their table surprisingly or should I say maddeningly burn their money on what I consider as senseless noise making. How about you? Does it make you happy creating noise to welcome the new year by lighting up fireworks and firecrackers?

Years back, I am part of the noise making revelry to welcome the new year. I had fun, but now there is so much regret that I did. As I look back not only did I burn money, but I also took part in polluting the environment with noise, thrash, and a lot of smoke! I cannot be happy, healthy, wealthy and holy this way. In fact, i am saddened by the fact that I took part in this senseless madness!

We need a different kind of fireworks... fireworks that do not pollute the environment, and does not burn our money... If we want to be truly happy, let the fireworks of love explode in your heart and make us move to share what we would have spent and wasted by burning fireworks. Then, if we do this , we can help reduce the pollution caused by this annual revelry, thus we breathe cleaner air rather inhale the sooth and smoke of fireworks. If we also desist in this senseless ritual, we can save a lot of money, individually and as a family, community, and country. Imagine . just say each family have spent 300Php to fireworks on the average, and there are say 12 Million Families in the Philippines, we could have saved that's a whopping 3.6Billion pesos, more than enough to feed so many people who do not have any food in their table... I hope more and more people follow the sample of people in Davao, and now in Bangkal Makati who had a total ban in fireworks....

I say again, let a different kind of fireworks burn in the streets!

God bless us all!

Stop Complaining & Comparing... Start Thanking and Trusting...

Most people search for happiness from material things, things they see around them. This is specially highlighted during this season of Christmas. They want this huge LED TV, this new IPAD , this new car, and many other wants triggered by the commercialism of Christmas. Certainly some people can afford it and be able to spend money in it within their means so they fall into buying things which they still do not need but can afford. There are those who also fall into it even if they cannot afford it because they saw their neighbors or friends or family having one. They fall into the trap of comparing and starts complaining why they do not have the same thing or things and to satisfy their want spend beyond their means attaining a momentary happiness but a long term financial disaster which eventually make people in this situation unhappy.

So how do we avoid this trap? We must always be thankful for what we have. We must simply avoid to compare with others for there are others who will be better than us that we feel sad about ourselves and there are people who are less than us that we also will feel sad for them. So when you compare with others you always end up unhappy. The best thing really is to be thankful for what you are, and what you have regardless of your situation. Thank the Lord first of all for the gift of life, for the gift of family, for the many blessings that you have, and that others have as well.

Secondly, trust in the Lord with all your heart that He cares and loves us all so much that He has always been there for us, and has already prepared all the things we need. We just have to recognize the blessings that comes our way and trust that there is more to come and that God will surprise us with His abundance so that in turn we can bless others.

You want to be happy? Stop Comparing so you can stop Complaining. Start Thanking the Lord for all the blessings that comes everyones way, and keep on Trusting that God will provide all that we need!

Merry Christmas and God bless us all!

Spend Now or Later? Save Now or Later? Christmas Commercialized....

Every-time the last three (3) months comes, the Christmas frenzy heightens up. Christmas bazaars, Christmas Sale and thus Christmas spending abound. It is a beautiful season of giving but I hope we do not over do it. I hope and pray we can be spared from the commercialism of Christmas. I hope too that we have the right direction and answer to the question: Spend now or later? Save now or later?

We must be thankful for all the blessings we have received and show our gratitude by giving to people and institutions. We must carry on with the tradition of gift giving and still be able to save for future needs. How do we do this? Very simple. We stick to our prosperity formula. Income- Tithes(10%) - Savings(20%) = Expenses (70%). Since there will be an inflow of money which is our 13th month pay, we must ensure we allocate the amounts the same way and not go beyond the 70% of the Cash In-Flow.

We also have to ensure we only buy things that we really need and give also things which people can make use of and more importantly a basic need. For institutions that we would like to help, cash gifts is most appropriate. For individuals, and loved ones, we should identify what do they really need, which we also can afford.

We must not fall for SALE items which we actually do not need or we still have. Do not fall for nice items to replace old ones that are still usable. Many fall for new LED TV or a touch screen phone, to add on to their still working TV or phone. Big purchases like new cars also happens during this season as the cash inflow is really huge, but how about next month? Will there be another 13th month pay?

So there you are friends, I submit that we must spend now within our means and not later for this is the season of giving. And we must consistently do it even if it is not Christmas. Giving must be consistent and all through out the year. That's the real spirit of Christmas.

I also propose we save now and not later at least 20% of the total cash in-flow. And we must not fall victim to the commercialized Christmas.

Spend within your means for what is needed and save whatever you can consistently this Christmas and through out the year!

Happy Spending and Saving!

Roxas City... I Love The Place and The People...

We have just completed our 5-day stay in Roxas City. It was actually our third time to be there doing our IMG Mission of spreading the gospel of Financial Literacy. We are so fortunate to be there this time to experience their "Sadsaran sa Halaran" which is A Street Dance Festivities as an offering to Mama Mary (Immaculate Conception). We are also so happy to meet up with a new set of families, couples, and people from young to old (24 Years old to 74 years old). Young entrepreneurs, Mayors, Vice Governors, and ordinary folks. Varied people with different status, dreams and goals in life.

It was hot and humid most of the time which supplements the warmth of the people of Roxas City. At times drizzling and in early morning rain pours generously which highlight to me the generosity of the town folks specially our host Kuya Rudy and Bebeb (Beth).

I did enjoy the street parade of young boys and girls from the different schools of the City. They all danced their merry way on one singular tune but with varying choreography for each of the schools. I enjoyed too the sumptuous meals we had at the plaza in front of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Provincial Capitol's Office. There are so much choices of food and drinks mostly authentic to the place.

The whole festivities run for five days from the time we arrive which culminated in the Feast of Immaculate Conception. We truly enjoyed it... the people and place... I love Roxas City....

THE BEST GIFT THIS CHRISTMAS…

Luke 1: 67 – 79
67 And his father Zechari’ah was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying, 68 “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people, 69 and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, 70 as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old, 71 that we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all who hate us; 72 to perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant, 73 the oath which he swore to our father Abraham, 74 to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, 75 in holiness and righteousness before him all the days of our life. 76 And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, 77 to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, 78 through the tender mercy of our God, when the day shall dawn upon us from on high 79 to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Reflection

Two days before Christmas and all the Christmas gifts had been prepared by now. But what is that one gift we can give to all people you will meet which everyone needs yet, will cost you not a single cent? Ask me what? It’s simply LOVE.

Zechariah had in his old age a son with Elizabeth whom he named John, the pre-cursor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John is the gift of LOVE from God given to the old couple Zechariah and Elizabeth. As you know, in the context of the Jewish culture, having no offspring makes them useless couple and is almost equal to a curse as it means you won’t have any posterity. NO one in the family will continue your lineage. Thus, the immense love of God for Zechariah and Elizabeth is manifested by making happen what is impossible with men, God made possible for Elizabeth to conceive in her old age. And as a show of love to God, Zechariah offered John back. Love begets love.

In today’s reading, Zechariah prophesied what his son would be destined to do: Luke 1:76-77 “76 And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, 77 to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins”. Today as we read this Gospel of Luke, the same prophecy is addressed to all of us. We are all called to be “Johns” for our family, friends, relatives and neighbors. And we can do this not just by shouting on the house tops for repentance of sins. Not just by giving expensive gifts.

We can be John’s to our family by giving LOVE as it is the summation of the Gospels and the Commandments. Giving love unconditionally reflects the mercy of God who loves us and forgives us even before we repent, even before we love Him back.

Giving love unconditionally gives knowledge of salvation to those who receives it. Start wrapping and sending your gifts now… Send your LOVE.

Prayer

Lord make us your instruments to bring knowledge of salvation to our fellow men. Bless us with wisdom, strength and all provisions we need to effectively spread the good news to all people. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Gift for Today

The easiest thing to do is to criticize and highlight the negatives of anything or anyone. Even the people closest to us are not spared. As a gift for today, let us show by our examples the tender mercy of God and to give light to those in darkness of sin.

When God Moves Everything Falls in its Place....

We have just concluded a very exhilarating, wonderful, spiritually-nourishing, and grace-filled 3-day Marriage Encounter Weekend at the BLD Covenant House in Dasmarinas, Cavite... We felt the LOVE of God pouring to each and everyone involved in the said weekend. It was truly God's hands moving to make it happen... Do you know why we say this? Ask us why?

Let us tell you why....Magis Class 100 is the sponsoring class for this weekend. We had seven class coordinators out of the original 16 couples. Of the seven coordinators , only one had been able to attend class reunions... and in the final meetings...they dropped out. Of the total 16 couples, only 2 couples (Malvin and Matin Leano, Vener and Malou Torres) consistently attended the reunion meetings and the weekend itself. Would have been easy to just say, that’s it. No more reunion meetings. But the # of people did not matter. What matter is whether we touched even 1 soul and we’re sure God is happy with that. So the meetings continued even with 2 couples in attendance.

In the last 10 days prior to the weekend, we only had 3 confirmed candidates... a sure ball , "no-brainer" condition for a disaster...a cancelled weekend. It's unthinkable especially that it is a Fr. Ruben's ME Weekend.

We made an appearance and appeal to the community... and prayed harder... We are sure our best efforts are not enough without the support of community and God's loving hands.

We did not waver, we did not worry, nor felt abandoned.. We just stayed positive! So about a week prior to weekend, we had commitment for 11 couples, then 15, then finally on the day itself, we expected 22 couples and 18 singles as candidates. We also had 2 more Magis 100 couples (Frances and Jonjon Cadag, and Uly and Set Dela China ) who committed to come as additional auxiliaries. The ever supportive Cora and Fred; our KKK BCGG Head, is of course always there to help making us the Magnificent 6 couples who would handle the weekend. We now have the numbers to pursue the weekend, but will all of them come? ...Of course you know they did...but in my tracking as of 6:30 PM...30 minutes before the time set by Fr Ruben as the START TIME , we only had 12 couples, and Fr.Ruben felt sad that we have not reach his set limits. The auxiliaries on the other hand was complete...but are we ready and able??? Pray...pray...pray.. and you know 10 minutes before the 7PM target, we have the numbers, 17 couples made it on time and 2 more came in beyond 7PM for a total of 19 couples making it to the weekend. God is so good! What a fitting birthday gift to Fr. Ruben who had dedicated more than 41 years of his life in this Ministry!

So the next challenge is...it's 12 auxiliaries vs the needs of 54 people. Can we deliver? At the on-set it was really a major physical challenge with so many logistical, and facilities needs. Air-con and lights not working in a room, arranging, and re-arranging room assignments which affects other logistical arrangements. There is also a door knob broken, one participant not wanting to share her room. Another one who cannot sleep due to the air-con noise, one needing medical attention due to hypertension (just good that one of K3 member Dr Bobby & Reggie Malijan came to the medical rescue), and many other personal needs of the participants... As we write this, We just can't compare the head ache the 12 disciples could have felt attending the needs of more than 5000 men , not counting women and children , there is definitely no comparison. What did the disciple do?...They went to Jesus who already have the answer..... and the needs are addressed.... It's what we did...we know our capabilities and limitations, so we lift up everything to Jesus, and the wisdom and energy needed to address the concerns just flowed through us and concerns were erased...everything went harmoniously... To God be the glory....

The day to day activities are short, but the preparations that goes with it are enormous... take the case of the directory, typing in information of more than 70 people (candidates, presenters, auxiliaries, etc) and printing a total of 46 sets is not a joke. Two cartridges run out of ink... The back up printer did not work... pictures and personal information of the candidates not yet complete... whew...what else could go wrong? But Fely kept her cool, went on tirelessly and finished it just in time... and may I say... done it very well! Again God’s hands at work!

The "Dinner Date" was the most exciting and we felt God's presence in the preparations made.... it was certainly time pressured preparations as it has to be completed in 30 minutes... Wheng and Ali Reyes, Benz Dimanalata, and Au were the ones responsible in making it happen in record time and elegance! The love and concern, the cooperation exuding from the love of one another disallowed the forces of the evil one to sow tension and irritation. The final result... Fr. Ruben exclaimed... "ang ganda"... and the participants gave us an unsolicited and spontaneous applause! Truly amazing... It's God's love for the participant couples manifesting... and to us as well..

We did it with God's helping hands... And we would like to give back all the glory and Honor to Him who made it possible. As Sally of Anchit said to me, we have done our mission and it is up now for the couples to do what they have seen and heard... We have surely touched couples lives forever, here is one feedback I would like to share from his Facebook wall post:
Jerry (Seculles) says..".now as I go to sleep.. i can't help myself but cry, remembering those memories in that weekend...still singing with tears in my joyful eyes..how I love my mama (that's how he calls his wife Cherry) ...We, as a couple like to congratulate you Magis 100 together with the staff (auxiliaries), especially the sharing couples (Santos & Llamas couples) most of all to Father Tanseco...Thank you very much for the wonderful weekend you've prepared for us...God really is within all of you....

And so we also want to take this opportunity to re-post here what we posted in our FB account: Thanks to all who made this Marriage Encounter Weekend a success! To all the 19 couples and 16 singles...you are all wonderful... the BLD Covenant House Staff are also nice people.,Sally and Anchit and all BCGGs in the South Sector, Fr Ruben and Most especially to the Lord Almighty who gave us an opportunity to serve Him...We feel so good and so blessed! Thanks to You Lord! ...To You we give back all glory and love!!!..

We started the ME Weekend with a prayer , that this weekend be our form of service to Him through the participants. That we may have the Love and Patience for one another as we render it. That we exert our energies, spend our time, talents, and treasure not for our own recognition, but to glorify the Lord who makes all things possible. We ended it with a mass in celebration of "Christ the King", and we were in tears as we hear the participants share their love letters to the Lord, expressing their rekindled love for one another, and their desire to be salt and light for other couples...

Now you know why we say it was truly God's hands moving to make this ME Weekend happen... We just prayed, believed, declared and surrendered to God’s will that the MEW will be a SUCCESS and so it was!

Again thank you to ALL who made this MEW happened. We can’t list down all the names. You know who you are and may GOD bless you MORE!!

My Daughter Chiara is A Champion Swimmer...

Yesterday, the whole morning till early afternoon, we (me and my wife) were so lucky to find ourselves watching the swimming competition of schools in the West Cavite Areas comprising of Maragondon, Tanza, Gen Trias, Naic, and Trece Martires where my daughter Chiara belongs.

It was not in the plan for the day as I had initially scheduled a visit to a factory of my client. But, certainly, it is a blessing of an opportunity to bond with our youngest daughter, and the parents of other swimmers. I had fun, not just because Chiara garnered Gold and Silver in the events she joined and their team emerged as the Overall Champion... I had fun because of the love and friendship shared.

Happiness indeed is not expensive. The mere presence of a loved one, the simple gesture of sharing of food, and the excitement of watching your daughter give her best effort is a wonderful source of happiness.

Thanks be to God. He arranged my schedules to be with my Champion Swimmer..Chiara....

God bless us all!

Holy Land Pilgrimage Fulfilled... Thanks be to God!

It's been a while since the last blog as we were so busy moving around for the IMG Mission and most recently and importantly the Holy Land Pilgrimage.

Fely and I were so blessed to be part of Bro Bo's 12-Day Pilgrimage to Holy Land last month. It was a fulfillment of one of our BIG DREAMS. We thank the Lord for all the provision making the trip possible.

It was not the usual "Tour". It is a real PILGRIMAGE filled with songs, prayers and love ...agape love of co-pilgrims.

We walked through the 15 Mysteries of the Holy Rosary. I can now relate and feel each of the 20 Mysteries from the Annunciation to Glorious Ascension of Christ. From Nazareth to Golgotha and Mt Neebo in Jordan where Moses died and was buried.

On the fun side of it, we had a chance to have a boat ride in Sea of Galilee and frolic and float at the Dead Sea. We were also able to set foot on the Oldest and Lowest Town in the world; Jericho Israel. Remember the Sycamore Tree in Jericho where Zacheaus climb it? I now have seen the said tree.

But it is not just seeing the place that we were able to achieve in this pilgrimage... we have expanded our family. Our co-pilgrims became a part of our family. The love and concern each one has for one another is an added premium and benefit of this pilgrimage. It was indeed very fulfilling to say the least.

Would post pictures taken on each of the significant places we have been to. We already have posted this on our FB Account.

I feel so blessed we were able to do this. Praise and Glory to God Almighty!

I pray that all of us would be able to experience the same.

God bless us all!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I thank the Lord for another year... It is really amazing how the years had gone so fast. And there are so many things to be thankful for. First my wife, a deeply spiritual, and loving person. Secondly my children who are so good and do well in their school. My eldest son who is doing very well on his job. My dear brother and sisters, my entire family, and clan who had stayed together in thick and thin, and to all my dear associates and friends from my previous companies and organizations who had showered me with unconditional friendships. Thanks be to God, who showered me with all His blessings in all facets of my more than half a century of existence!

I had an extended celebration this year which started Sunday my birthday and ended yesterday night. I had so much fun and I really praise and thank the Lord for all of His provisions and for all the people who showered me with their greetings and prayers.

I look forward to more years so I can give back more of me, through my sharing of my Talents, Treasure and Time.

I am truly happy!

God bless us all!

Be A Cheerful Giver...Be Happy... Be Blessed...

“God is able to make every grace abundant for you... you may have an abundance for every good work.” – 2 Corinthians 9:82

When we give, it indeed creates a space where God can fill up with His more beautiful blessings. In my life, this has always been proven many many times. My college education is a gift, I was a National State Scholar the entire 5 years of my college education , free tuition fees all inclusive and with allowances for books, transportation, meals. Why, I believe it's a reward from my good works in our church.

I have a good family, my children are all high performers in schools and accomplished much...why... God has showered me with abundant blessings as I was good to my parents. I give all my salary to my mother when I started to work. I live on the allowance she gave me.

Corinthians 9:6-7 6 Brothers and sisters: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

And I indeed, looking back, gave my all cheerfully without sadness and certainly not because of compulsion but out of love for my mother and my family. And God returned what I gave several hundred folds as I have been blessed with a beautiful and loving wife.

“Generosity is not giving me that which I need more than you do, but it is giving me that which you need more than I do.” (Kahlil Gibran)

Let's give our all cheerfully....

God bless us all!

Giving Your 100% ...You'll be Happy....

I often hear people say that in a relationship, do not give your all, because if you do, you'll be miserable...

This is self fulfilling prophecy based on a the standards of the "world". What real happy people prescribed to is give your all in your relationships and you'll be happy! I reflected on last Sunday's message of Bro Bo on his brand new series of talk entitled T3: Time, Talent, Treasure... and recalled what he shared about happy and successful marriage.

Happy couples do not just give their token share in the relationship. Happy couples give their all, their 100% and even more. As I reflect on this, I use my math and create the equation :

HAPPY MARRIAGE = or > 100%
HUSBAND's SHARE = H
WIFE's SHARE = W
MARRIAGE = H + W
If H and W are both 100%
MARRIAGE = 100% + 100% = 200% = HAPPY MARRIAGE.

Sometimes, when either feels not so good, is not appreciated, or simply has "sumpong"
either H or W will not be 100%... but since MARRIAGE is H + W , the sum will always
guess what?....More than 100%....

However, for those who are just giving their 50% and waits for their better half to
give their 50%, sometime they do make 100%, but more often they barely hit it...

Give your best in everything, give your all and God will surely reward us!

God bless us all!

Be Loving and You'll be Healthy!

The root of being Happy, Healthy, Wealthy and Holy is simply to be LOVING.

This is the sequence... If you are LOVING person, this means you are a GIVING, FORGIVING and THANKSGIVING person. If you are doing these three , you are certainly happy. If you are a happy person, you would certainly be healthy, and if you are healthy , you are already wealthy, and since you are loving person you are on your right path to holiness.

So there you have it guys. Just LOVE and you'll be happy, healthy, wealthy and holy!

This is why Jesus summarized the 10 Commandments to LOVING GOD and LOVING others and ourselves! That is the only way!

I love you all!

God bless!

Enjoy What You Have

Being happy is being present in the present. You wonder why this time you are in is called present? It's simply because indeed a present to be still present in the present. Are you still with me?

But, there is another requisite to being happy in the present. Ask me what? Okay, the key to happiness is to be present in the present and "Enjoy What You Have".

If you are focused on what you do not have, you will miss the opportunity to enjoy what you have. Many people fall to this trap simply because they are driven by envy as they look on what others have that they do not.

I came across this man from China by the name of Peng who has a half body. This was shared by my brother from the USA and I would like to share with you, so you would be inspired to be thankful for what we have.

Happy reading...

Next time you start feeling sorry for yourself, think about this story. This guy could have chosen anger for his loss, but instead he made so much more of himself with less than what he started with. The human will power. Amazing choice in attitude. Its wonderful.

"Half Man - Half Price Store"
The Story of Peng Shuilin

In life we keep complaining about what is or why we don't have.

Half the time we seem dissatisfied, though full-bodied and free to choose. Fat people say,"I want to be slim." Skinny people say,"I want to be fatter."
Poor people want to be rich and rich are never satisfied with what they have.

PENG Shuilin is 78cms high. He was born in Hunan Province, China. In 1995, in Shenzhen, a freight truck sliced his body in half.
His lower body and legs were beyond repair.

Surgeons sewed up his torso. Peng Shuilin, 37, spent nearly two years in hospital in Shenzhen, southern China, undergoing a series of operations to re-route nearly every major organ or system inside his body. Peng kept exercising his arms, building up strength, washing his face and brushing his teeth.

He survived against all odds. Now Peng Shulin has astounded doctors by learning to walk again after a decade.

Considering Peng's plight, doctors at the China Rehabilitation Research Centre in Beijing devised an ingenious way to allow him to walk on his own, creating a sophisticated egg cup-like casing to hold his body, with two bionic legs attached.

It took careful consideration, skilled measurement and technical expertise. Peng has been walking the corridors of Beijing Rehabilitation Centre with the aid of his specially adapted legs and a resized walking frame.

RGO is a recipicating gait orthosis, attached to a prosthetic socket bucket. There is a cable attached to both legs so when one goes forward, the other goes backwards. Rock to the side, add a bit of a twist and the leg without the weight on it advances,
while the other one stays still, giving a highly inefficient way of ambulation.
Oh so satisfying to 'walk' again after ten years with half a body!

Hospital vice-president Lin Liu said: "We've just given him a checkup; he is fitter than most men his age."

Peng Shuilin has opened his own bargain supermarket, called the Half Man-Half Price Store.

The inspirational 37-year-old has become a businessman and is used as a role model for other amputees.

At just 2ft 7ins tall, he moves around in a wheelchair giving lectures on recovery from disability.

His attitude is amazing, he doesn't complain.

"He had good care, but his secret is cheerfulness. Nothing ever gets him down."

You have a whole body. You have feet.

Now you have met a man who has no feet.

His life is a feat of endurance, a triumph of the human spirit in overcoming extreme adversity.

Next time you want to complain about something trivial, don't.

Remember Peng Shulin instead.

Instant Gratification or Long Term Rewards

Long lasting happiness is sometimes hiding behind an instant surge of happiness... Like the story of Esau and Jacob sons of Isaac. Bro Bo narrated the story of Esau giving up his rights as first born to Jacob to a bowl of red bean soup!

Many times many of us are guilty of choosing an instant gratification over a long term sense of enjoyment or true happiness. We fall for what is immediately graspable in front of us vs what is in store somewhere from afar.

What are the common temptations: Sex, Money, Fame, and Power.

We are surely familiar with situations where people are getting married because the bride is on her way. Couples enjoying sexual relationship prior matrimony. Enjoying the pleasure and suffering in remorse and frustrations later on.

We also know of some people falling into the trap of having instant money, sacrificing their dignity, and their name. Familiar with "kotong" cops? Or the "kotongressmens"? Even in the private companies, this happens. Many people fall for instant money making ventures versus a disciplined approach to safe and wise saving and investing. Gusto lagi instant (always like instant).

Some people resort to paying off anything just to be famous. Instantly rising to stardom and eventually fading away like a shooting star. This one is for showbiz folks.

And lastly, many people specially in government will do everything to be in power or stay in power. Guns, goons, and gold are employed to ensure they win the coveted post.Yes, they often-times succeed, but the question is, do they really become truly happy for the long haul?

The ploy of the devil is make us blind to what lies beyond. It is the devil that urged Esau to exchange a bowl of soup for his rights. It is the devil who tempts us to grab what is an instant gratification versus what is good for the long term.

Thus, we need to always pray and discern the choices we make. It is only with the guidance of the Holy Spirit that we will be able to see clearly between instant gratification and long term reward.

God bless.

Where does True Happiness Comes From

Many people search far and wide for happiness.

True happiness can only found from within. It is not in the world. It is in our hearts of heart. Unfortunately, it is by human nature that we seek what is in the outside before we look what we have from within. Some people resort to the pleasures derived from what the world offers: wine, sex, casino, movie, telenovela, food, and many other diversions which indeed gives off some sense of happiness, but just a fleeting, short lived kind of happiness.

True happiness is not found from what we take, buy , acquire, receive.... but from what we give.

Thus, true happiness does not come from the outside but from our heart.

So how do we find true happiness in our heart? If what we do mundanely like eating, watching movie, and many others are done in the name of love, then we will find happiness. Think about it, if what we do is founded always in love, it will make us truly happy people. When we drive our car or ride in a bus and is traveling to our destination, we just sit and relax, pray, admire the beauty of God's creation and blessings, rather than curse due to traffic, we will be happy rather than grumpy for we evoke love from within.

You also wonder why sex between married people is called making love? This is precisely a gift for couples to express their deepest love for each other and in the process of doing so, makes them happy, truly happy and bond them even more closer. You cannot claim the same is happening between couples who are not in love though they tag it as making love as well, as it is purely a sex act rather than love. Pleasure is indeed derived, but is only instant and is replaced immediately with remorse, guilt, fright, but not true happiness.

Most sources of happiness from the outside cost money. What comes from within is free! What we get from the world is limited and time-bounded, what is within is limitless and has no time limits.

It's what Jesus has been preaching over and over....Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind and love one another as yourself.... That is where true happiness comes from. It is from within. It is what we give off rather that what we take.

Try it now and stay on it. It's challenging, and I myself cannot claim I have perfected it, but the more we practice it, the more we get happier, truly happier!

God bless!

Be Wealthy...Firstly on Your Mind!

Money is the root of all evil... this is usually what we normally hear from people who have a wrong religious mindset about money. It is actually the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil and not money itself.

Money is neutral. It is not evil, it is not filthy, and and it wont bring us to eternal damnation! If money is in the hands of bad people, it will be used for bad purpose. But if it is n the hands of good people then it will be used for greater glory of God!

Thus, I submit to T. Harv Eker and to Bro Bo's thesis that first thing we need to do to really be wealthy is to expand our mind wallet so we can attract more money to come into our lives. But I just want to add... not to go to the extent that all we think about is how to make money.

How do we suppose to expand our money mindset? Simple, just think that money is good, money is what we need to be bale to help more people, money must be saved and invested for our future, money is going to bring us to heaven. Be truly wealthy...wealthy people who does not get attached to their wealth but use their wealth for the greater glory of God!

Be truly wealthy and you can be truly happy!

Add "L" into Your Marriage

Marriage is a balance of many aspects and priorities. It is a never ending cycle of ups and downs much like a roller coaster ride.

In my own 25 years of marriage with the same woman, I finally got to realize that the surest way to increase the gap of separation and animosity is by increasing your level of competition.

One area you compete in is who earns more. The man of the house must stand his ground that this is his turf. He is the bread winner. Thus, the husband must ensure his wife will not earn more than he does.

Who wins if I win, or she wins? What's the point? Does it make both of you happy?

What's my solution to bridge the gap is simple. You LOVE your spouse , that is why you married him or her. The purpose of which is not to COMPETE but to COMPLETE. Go back to that purpose. Add that "L" which is LOVE back to your marriage and you'll see happiness and blessings coming back.

God bless!

The First Miracle Of Jesus!

Are you married and you want to be truly truly happy...extremely happy? Love. That's the formula LOVE.

And where should you experience this firsthand and most frequently? Of course at home with your spouse and family.

Why do I say this? The very first miracle of Jesus is the changing of water into wine at the wedding in Cana.

And not just another wine. The best wine .. Imagine ordinary water in a big jar filled to the brim, and not just one , but many. Get the picture. It is a graphic portrait of a huge, overflowing blessings to a couple that shares LOVE. love shared between HUSBANDS and WIVES.

Why LOVE? Mother Mary told the attendants before Jesus performed His first miracle that is not even in His time yet, "just do what Jesus tells you"... And in all that Jesus proclaim and preach...bottomline is always LOVE. That is what He is telling the newly weds in Cana, that is what He is telling the crowds, and His disciples, that is what He is telling us... just LOVE.

And when we love one another most especially our spouse, the miracle starts to happen. The blessings starts to flow and it is overflowing filled to the brim like the wine they had on that wedding in Cana.

So, after reading this blog... go to your spouse side, give him or her a tight hug and a kiss! You'll immediately feel the miracle starts to happen!

God bless!

Happy New Year Revelry...

Happy New Year to all, and I hope your fingers are still complete, and your nose did not get black sooth in it.... pardon the grossness.

This New Year is the first time I did not have any fireworks and it was indeed a struggle. I see beautiful fireworks all around me from afar as I live in a subdivision where my neighbors are some hundred meters away. My mind say, why don't you have some of your own fireworks explosions? But my heart tells me, do not indulge in this yearly revelry to welcome in a new year as it has many ill effects.

First and foremost is that it is a waste of money. I would reckon hundred of millions of pesos are thrown away in this practice every year, and somebody pockets that money. However, you buy and burn your money and explode it. In the process of exploding these firecrackers some people may even be injured or you yourself might get injured or home and properties damaged. This is more serious money wasting.

Second, I'm concerned with our dogs Futzee and Fu. Dogs are particularly affected as they have very very sensitive hearing and an explosion from a firecracker can be likened to a speaker in full placed directly into your eardrums... how does that feel to you? If all od these dogs and cats, can organize themselves, I'm sure they will be on the streets with their placards to stop this annual practice.

Thirdly, and the most neglected part all the time as this is outweighed by the pleasure of doing the first two damage is the environmental impact. Imagine the smoke, sooth and trash fireworks leave the environment. I saw the darkened clouds early in the morning after of new years eve and it was gloomy. The sky is not so happy about the smoke that has stayed up there.

I was so happy to see one barangay in Manila, Philippines, that organized street party from collection of money that in the past years was just wasted in buying firecrackers. I hope more people do the same.

We may be just a minority among many who still enjoys thrashing and bashing our own money our animals and environment... and I did struggled this very first year.... But, I know with this simple blog and through people who will spread this, I can be of help to our own pockets, our pet dogs and most especially to our dear environment.

God bless!
